Happy New Year

We trust God that you had nice, joyful time during last Christmas season.
Joy and peace to you this new year! May God convert all your conflicts to comforts, your pains to gains, your minimums to maximums, your scars to stars, your losses to profits, your tears to smiles, your sorrows to pleasures, your bad wishers to well wishers, your debts to credits, and all your dreams to realities. Glad things and wonderful year.

PEA

Polish Educational Association (PEA) is a NGO in Poland. The vision and mission is helping orphans and Christian education. This is the organization which we will be voluntarily working with. As PEA we are in 21 days of prayer and fasting, you are free to join us in this time of prayer. We are asking God to revel to us the place in East Africa where to build the Christian School. Thank you for standing with us, God bless you.

Kyenjonjo, Uganda

Just after these unforgettable moments, we were on our journey to western part of Uganda. It was like 30 hours journey. Mirka's legs were swollen for some few days, but that did not stop her from doing what had made her to go there.

During those 2weeks of staying in Uganda, we helped preparing Christmas parties for the kids. Lot's of Christmas gifts and food were given to over 500 children. Thanks to all who sent us funds to buy sodas and chickens for those kids. The kids were happy and very grateful, praying that God will bless the hands that provided.

Travelling in Africa
The children stay in different homes/areas and we were to travel to these places. Some places are deep in the village, where there is no proper road network. We had to use public means of transport like 14seats minibuses (taxi, matatu) and motorcycle (boda boda).
The shocking part is that the 14seats minibuses are over loaded to 20 or even more people. Sometimes people carry also the chickens in this buses. It looks funny and kind of interesting for those who come for a short terms missions, voluntary works. They get to know Africans style of travel. However it is very hectic and annoying to do it for a long period of time. We didn't have a choice, as we don't have a private means. It was no easy specially for Mirka. She could be so discourage by the way people travel in that part of Uganda. Please pray for us that God will give us the car to help us to reach to those children's homes.

Also during our time there we met the leaders we are going to work with soon. They were happy to receive us and we were pleased with their hospitality.

In Kenya

Thanks and praise be to our loving God who successfully enable us to register our marriage in Kenya. Finally it is done. Now we are hoping to get Mirka's dependant pass before we move to Uganda.

As we already mentioned before we were meeting Henry's family on 3rd of December 2011. We were invited to the village where Henry grew up from. It was a big nice surprise for both of us, as we didn't know anything about party which was taking place there.
The whole village gathered in Henry's family and all of them they welcomed us with the traditional dances, welcome cake and lot's of food. During that function were introduction of different families. Here in Africa they value so much extend-family.It was a good experience for Mirka to learn more about the culture here.

We will be doing ministry of serving God in the orphanages, churches, reaching pastors, church leaders, members of church, Youth and different age of kids. We are feeling God is leading us to teach His word to His precious people.

We need you to stand with us in prayer to God to provide and meet our needs. If you are willing to  support financially God's work which we are doing or to come as a volunteer and be part of us you are very welcome to do so.
Please let us know what you feel what God is leading you to do for this ministry. We are happy and thankful to God to have you all in our lives, May God be with you always.

Henry and Mirka Kalume

Time in Kenya

After the wedding we moved to Kenya to meet Henry’s family.  So far Mirka has met few of them. We are hoping to meet the rest of the family on the 3rd of December 2011 in the village where Henry was brought up. During our time in Kenya we are also working on our marriage registration. After registration we are going to apply for Mirka’s dependant pass.

Our time in Kenya has not been easy so far. We have been struggling financially. Our account had been blocked and we did not have a place to stay. We didn’t have any money for paying rent, food transport etc.  Up to now the account is still blocked but we thank God for His faithfulness.
We have a place to stay and some little money for upkeep. Praise be to God!

On the beach in Mombasa
Mombasa is very hot for Mirka. Sometimes she wish to be lock in the cold room and not move from there.  For those of you who know about Mombasa, how humid it is then you can understand what Mirka is going through.

We will be travelling to Kyenjojo in western part of Uganda for 2weeks. There is a mission we are going to do concerning orphanage. Our friends have asked us to help them to prepare and organise Christmas parties for about 500 kids. After the Christmas parties we will come back to Kenya. So remember us in your prayers.

The Wedding

We thank God and everyone who stood with us in prayers and financial support during our wedding preparation. It was colourful!! :)
The day was good, it was shining and hot in the morning, in the afternoon it looked as if there was going to be a storm but all in all it never hindered the process. We did not expect it to be that colourful but because of God and you standing with us we made it. It was a nice surprise to see some of you whom we did not expect to be there but you made it. Wow!! :) Thank you again for the wedding gifts, your comments on our wedding pictures and we are so grateful for that. May God bless you abundantly.

To avoid tiring you with reading, there will be a DVD of the our wedding available in two months time. If you would like to see, please let us know (available for a small contribution  towards our ministry here in Africa).
